Bobby and Steve start their conversation with Byron Buxton who suffered an injury while making a spectacular catch at the wall last night. He’s out of the lineup today unfortunately but is “in good spirits”. They chat about Royce Lewis being called back up to the Majors after a reset stint with the St. Paul Saints. Bobby digs into some of his swing details and what he has adjusted to work himself out of the slump that resulted in his demotion.

Jess and Steve talk about Kirill Kaprizov’s series, the disappearance of Matt Boldy in the 2nd round and how the organization will approach the goaltending position in the offseason. Jess presents the options and the context surrounding this team, the goaltenders and the NHL as a whole. Steve asks about how hobbled the team was by the injuries to Joel Eriksson Ek and Jonas Brodin.

Every Saturday at 4:07pm the meeting of the Steves commences. Rain is expected in the next few days and Steve says we need it bad. The wind has been beating him and his fellow fishers up so far. Carney says the good fishing is in the coming weeks with fish moving on from spawning to feeding. He also says that water temps are holding in the ideal range. .

Chris Hine covers the Minnesota Timberwolves for the Star Tribune. He joins Steve to conduct a post-mortem on the Timberwolves season after a blowout loss at home last night. Steve gives credit to the Spurs and big Vic and Chris points out that they and the OKC Thunder aren’t going anywhere in the Western Conference for a long time. The Wolves are at another crossroads and have some growing to do. Steve asks about the trade value for Rudy Goebert and Julius Randle. Chris also shares what he heard from exit interviews earlier today.

Jess Myers covers the Minnesota Wild for the Pioneer Press. The Wild have a big challenge ahead of themselves in St. Paul tonight for game 3 vs the Avalanche. Jess runs down the players we won’t see tonight. Wallstedt back between the pipes. They discuss how big of an impact Joel Eriksson Ek has on the lineup, what’s missing when he’s not and new the defensive pairings being rolled out to hopefully stop the bleeding.

Carney fills us in on his adventures, observations and how much he got beat up by the wind today. He says it's a double advil afternoon. He also shares how he hauled in a six pound walleye earlier today.
