Steven Hunter played in the NBA for a decade after being drafted in the first round by the Orlando Magic in 2001. He went on to play for the Phoenix Suns, Philadelphia 76ers, Denver Nuggets, and the Memphis Grizzlies.
Steven has an autistic son named Blaise who inspired him to start the Steven Hunter Youth Foundation and on December 18th, for the second time, Steven’s foundation will team up with United Cerebral Palsy of Central Arizona to offer a Special Needs Basketball Clinic at the Phoenix Suns Arena that will introduce Kids with Disabilities to the Game.
Camille Ridley, from United Cerebral Palsy of Central Arizona, and Steven stopped by the studio to chat with Sasha about this collaboration between their organizations and where they would like to see it go.
You can find Steven’s foundation online at SHYFoundation.com, go to the Adaptive Basketball Clinic tab on that site and you can find all sorts of information about the event including the different sponsorship levels that are available.
United Cerebral Palsy of Central Arizona is online at UCPofCentralAZ.org.
