The Zurich Classic Golf Tournament at the TPC is one of New Orleans shining star sports events in the Crescent City, and for the past decade, Louisiana native Steve Worthy has been the tournament's director and CEO of the Fore Kids Foundation. Steve has done a phenomenal job making the Zurich one of the best events on the PGA Tour, and tonight he shares tournament information with Kristian.

Now that the NFL Combine is over, the free agency period is about to get wild & woolly, so Mike, Kristian, callers & even former Saints General Manager Randy Mueller discuss the many options the Black & Gold are faced with, especially at the quarterback position.  Some really good, educated calls in this hour as well.

The first hour of Sports Talk starts off with Mike & Kristian discussing the year-long suspension of Atlanta Falcons wide receiver for betting on the NFL this season while he was sitting out this season.  The talk quickly went to LSU baseball & the tough weekend the Tigers had in Houston's Shriner Classic at Minute Maid Park. Jeff Palermo joins the boys to discuss the games vs Texas, Baylor & Oklahoma.  And Tulane won two out of 3 vs the defending champion Mississippi State Bulldogs.

Jeff Palermo, the Louisiana Radio Network News & Sports Host on Tiger Rag Radio, joins Kristian & Mike to discuss LSU's tough baseball weekend in Houston for the Shriner's Classic.  The Tigers lost 2 out of 3, winning the Friday game vs Oklahoma in extra-innings, and then losing to Texas & Baylor on Saturday & Sunday night.  Palermo also spoke about the Tigers football team picking up Arizona State QB Jayden Daniels from the transfer portal....and what it might mean for Myles Brennan.

Hour Four of "Sports Talk" with Mike Detillier was wild & wooly as he kept giving updates on LSU's wild extra-inning walk-off home run comeback victory over the Oklahoma Sooners.  David Folse from Tiger Details joins Mike from Minute Maid Park in Houston to talk about the epic win.  UNO head coach Mark Slessinger previews his Privateers huge game tomorrow in Thibodaux vs Nicholls for the Southland Conference regular-season championship!

David Folse, the Tiger Details baseball insider, joins Mike literally seconds after the LSU Tigers walk-off home run in the 11th inning over the Oklahoma Sooners in Houston. The Tigers trailed 3-0 in the 8th but came back to tie it up in the 9th inning. It was a thrilling victory highlighted by Jordan Thompson's home run in the 11th.  David Folse is in Houston at the game & did the interview from the stadium moments after the huge Tigers victory.

When one becomes the all-time leader in coaching wins at a university, yes, he deserves to be called a legend.  And that is exactly what UNO Privateers head coach Mark Slessinger accomplished two weeks ago. 

But besides his personal accomplishments, it all comes down to tomorrow's huge game for his 2022 team!  The Nicholls Colonels & UNO Privateers face off at 3 pm tomorrow (Saturday) for all the marbles...the Southland Conference regular-season Championship!  Mark Slessinger, the now-grizzled veteran coach of the Privateers, joins Mike the evening before the big tilt to discuss what his team needs to pull out a victory over the very well-coached Colonels. Two great coaches. Two great teams. It promises to be a whale of a game tomorrow in Thibodaux!

In Hour Three of "Sports Talk", Mike takes a few calls about the Saints draft, particularly whether the Saints should consider taking Kenny Pickett (Pitt Panthers), the number one quarterback in the NFL Draft.  But the biggest part of this third hour are the two interviews Mike had with legendary defensive line coach Pete Jenkins, and legendary UNO Privateers basketball coach Mark Slessinger, whose team has a huge showdown tomorrow vs the Nicholls Colonels for the Southland Conference Championship.

If you've ever met legendary defensive line coach Pete Jenkins, then you've met a friend for life. Jenkins, whose career as a legendary defensive line coach is unparalleled (mostly at LSU), is also one of the best storytellers on the planet.  And when you add our very own Mike Detillier to that mix, then look out because it's going to be a lot of fun.  Most of the conversation centers around the NFL Combine, which is really just a base to start the fun storytelling!
