Tyler Pagel, Susan G. Komen Development Director in Seattle talks about the upcoming Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk in Seattle on Saturday, September 28 at the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle.
The MORE THAN PINK Walk, Susan G. Komen’s largest fundraising event series, evolved from the Race for the Cure in 2018. Each year, we host over 100,000 participants at our 40+ in-person (and one virtual) walks across the U.S. Since the first Walk in 2018, our participants have raised more than $60 million dollars and continue to be a part of a community committed to our vision of a world without breast cancer.
With inclusive and accessible options for people of all ages and abilities – including breast cancer survivors, those currently in treatment for breast cancer and people living with metastatic breast cancer – the Walk provides participants the opportunity to come together and connect in meaningful ways. It allows us to focus on sharing our passion, sharing our stories and connecting with others, all while fundraising to support life-saving programs and research.
Our finish line is a world without breast cancer, and we know the only way we can get there is together.

Camille Block is the author of Hope for Secondhand Suffering: Tools for the heart when you can't fix our loved one's pain.
Camille Block talks about the trauma of secondhand suffering. Her younger brother had cerebral palsy paraplegia, she was only 6 when her parents and doctors decided he should be moved to a home. She didn't have any say and trusted her parents and the doctors. As an adult after dropping her daughter off at college, her mom had a stroke and passed away within 5 days. She started writing and realized all the current events were connected to the trauma she suffered secondhand from her brothers disability. Her hope is this book will help others who have suffered similarly will feel hope and see they are not alone.

Financial fraud steals more than money — it robs hundreds of thousands of people of their hopes, dreams, and futures every year. With more than $10 billion in reported losses in 2023 alone, it's time to take a stand against scams.
At the Washington State Department of Financial Institutions, we believe that education and awareness are the most powerful tools in preventing financial fraud. Here in the Puget Sound the need is great. Thanks to Bartell's customers like you, last year they collected $40,000 in donations. Bartell Drugs is passionate about giving back to the greater Seattle area and it’s communities and along with World Vision they are hoping to raise enough money for MORE than 19 pallets of school supplies.

Vicky Manivanh and Michelle Holm are friends, neighbors, and now, business partners. Like most things that end up being a great idea, ReCooped PNW started as a brilliant accident. While visiting a friend’s business, we noticed they were throwing away a large amount of plastic material. Upon closer inspection, we noticed that the material was quite durable so we decided to “rescue” it. A few days after this, Vicky made a bag out of this plastic material on a whim and we ended up loving it. We made a few more and gave them away to our friends and family and they ended up loving them as well. We realized after this that we had something special on our hands and wanted to share it with the rest of the world.
Although our journey started by chance, what keeps us motivated today is our common interest of problem solving and passion for making sustainability accessible to a larger audience. We believe sustainable lifestyles don’t have to be complicated and want to offer people a direct solution to living sustainably. With our sustainable bags we hope to help people live happier, greener lives.
Reduce. Reuse. ReCoop.

When Dan Fine said yes to helping animals abandoned in Ukraine, he had no idea the layers of problems they would have to solve.
When the Russians invaded Ukraine, over 12 million people fled the bombs, missiles, landmines and bullets. Unfortunately, many had to leave their pets behind. We are helping by sterilizing, vaccinating and microchipping and trying to reunite them.
