As we make our way through 1 John 3, we begin to understand the call to personal holiness with a consideration of the difference between remaining sin and reigning sin in our lives. 

Today we began chapter 3, and get an introduction to John's extensive passage on personal holiness. 

Today we were blessed to hear from Matt Perry, one of our elders, on living a quiet life- a message we certainly need in 2024. 

The title explains what's happening here. We review the previous three sermons to make sure we understand the broader theme of the passage. 

1 John 2 concludes with some very specific instruction regarding how we identify antichrist. 

Today's message concludes with a devotional from one of our members before we observe the Lord's Supper. 

Today we see the fact of antichrists, and get an important instruction regarding what we should do about that fact. 

As God issues an injunction against loving the world, we need to take care that we understand what He has in view, and how we can even begin to obey this commandment. 

Also, the part of this sermon which we said will be clarified next Sunday HAS been removed, lest anyone be caused to stumble. 

As we celebrate the resurrection, we consider three questions worth answering in light of this day. 

We observe Lord's Supper once per month, as well as on each Resurrection Sunday, and Lee Smith, one of our elders, brought a devotional message which follows immediately after the sermon. 

As has become our practice, the last Sunday of the month is a review of the previous few messages. This sermon concludes with member testimony. That audio will be uploaded as part of a separate series at a later date. 

Since the Holy Spirit mentions to whom He is addressing this epistle, we stop and consider the implications for us.
