Hour 3 -
Happy Tuesday! Here's what Nick Reed covers this hour:
Former Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill claimed Monday that Jesus Christ “would be shocked” at America’s lack of gun control following a Saturday shooting at a Texas mall.
The federal government attempted to force the St. Francis Catholic hospital system Oklahoma to choose between losing its accreditation for Medicaid and Medicare or removing eternal flames from its chapels, which is central to their faith. The hospital system refused, citing their First Amendment rights and religious beliefs.
Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker appeared at Georgia Institute of Technology on Saturday and gave the commencement speech. "In the end— no matter how much money you attain— none of it will matter if you are alone and devoid of purpose... I can offer one controversial antidote that I believe will have a lasting impact for generations to come: GET MARRIED AND START A FAMILY."
Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt, R., vetoed a bill last week that would have funded operations of the state's PBS station, Oklahoma Educational Television Authority (OETA), through 2026, accusing the station of indoctrinating young children. The governor’s office provided examples of OETA content that it considers objectionable, including a segment of "Let's Learn" in which a children’s book titled "The Hips on the Drag Queen Go Swish, Swish, Swish" is read by someone called Lil Miss Hot Mess.
