Good Saturday morning!
Here's what Dustin Atwood and Sarah Myers cover this morning:
Sarah just got back from the 2023 KSGF Great Escape.
Sarah was out and about quite a bit in Mexico, so she took notes about vehicles that she saw.
There was a lot of cars & SUVs. Trucks weren't as common, but there was quite a few Ford Rangers & VW trucks.
Dealerships looked a lot like ours - there was not a lot of vehicles on the lot. The Nissan dealership actually had vehicles stored on the roof.
Gas was 23.59 (pesos) per liter. That translates to around $4.95 per gallon.
There were several makes & models that weren't familiar. There was quite a few Renault Oroch's on the road. These trucks retail around $365,700 pesos, or around $20,000 dollars if buying the basic trim package.
The Toyota Hilux was also popular. Why are they not sold in the US? Apparently it's due to something called "The Chicken Tax."
More people are coming into the shop to rebuild older vehicles.
