Squared Circle Podcast

Welcome to a brand new episode of the Squared Circle Podcast by yours truly Marie Shadows. Marie Shadows explores why Jon Moxley (not my) the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion is BIG MAD at Naito! During AEW Collision, he cut a promo with such anger and animosity towards Naito and promising to end Naito's career, to bury him in the ground. It's jarring. It's sudden. And Marie Shadows was asking questions. The funny thing about asking questions on Twitter, you sometimes get a response to which I did and replied back with some spiciness.

How many times will Jon Moxley tell us the same story that has now become outdated? How many times do we need to know he overcame addiction when countless others in pro wrestling and around the world overcame addiction too but Moxley get's a spotlight like the holy one? How many times do we need to know he crawled, and scratched his way to the top of the mountain? What is this mountain by the way? How many times do we need to know that he has doubters and "people" that has held him back?

He was welcomed with open arms during his indie run after WWE. No one stopped him. So what doubters? Moxley made it to WWE. So what doubters?

Marie Shadows breaks down the outdated story of Jon Moxley with thought provoking perspectives and opinions and examples. The fluff of Jon Moxley twitter posts are fever pitch and he's not even New Japan Talent. He's AEW contracted star! No other NJPW wrestler got fluff twitter posts with a snobby preface of: Say what you want!

Also, Marie Shadows exposes what Mox is BIG MAD at Naito for ahead of their Forbidden Door PPV!

Marie Shadows discusses the G1 34! It's a preview.

Moxley vs EVIL at NJPW Dominion was cold and disappointing. Marie Shadows does a deep dive on the whole match and gives perspectives, knowledge about Japanese culture, and opinions to explain why this whole match was storyless and subpar and NJPW has a standard. It's declined in recent years. If you are going to discuss, please discuss civilly. Please answer any polls or Q&A that is on Spotify and others. Thanks.

NJPW and NJPW wrestlers need to focus on doing more rather than expressing opinions that does not understand the full concept of the issues with New Japan Pro Wrestling. I will always say it: No company is perfect. No company will ever be perfect but there can be steps taken — right now — that gain the fans trust, especially American fans.

Unpacking NJPW is the new episode by Marie Shadows. Welcome to a deep dive of NJPW product. Here are the key concepts and ideas talked about in this episode on the Squared Circle Podcast!

NJPW boasts a rich array of championships, each with its own history and prestige. However, the sheer number of titles can sometimes dilute their significance. In this episode, we discuss which titles are essential and which ones might need to be retired or reimagined.

The Championship Conundrum

IWGP Championships like Heavyweight, Super Jrs, World & Global should all stay and have short and long term vision and stories and valuable contenders.

King of Pro Wrestling Championship + IWGP Women’s Championship + NJPW Strong Women’s Championship should go unless the women championships get that same vision for short and long term storytelling and be consistent rather than a revolving door of challengers that aren’t part of the brand.

The IWGP Women’s Championships to be featured on NJPW programming because Twitter got loud about NJPW not having a women’s division. NJPW borrows from Stardom at rare times, but Japan sticks with dividing men and women sports. It was until the Historic Crossover of NJPWxStardom that did wonderful and looked promising happened, and I’m still waiting for a part two.

The King of Pro Wrestling Championship is a joke and I give more details.

Decoding the NEVER Championship titles. NEVER stands for: New Blood, Evolution, Valiantly, Eternal, Radical. The original idea for this series of championships was to elevate the younger wrestlers in 2012 when the championships debuted.

Factions play a crucial role in NJPW, adding layers of storytelling and rivalry. However, some factions may have run their course and could benefit from a shake-up.

Factions: Time to Split?

Factions of NJPW:

NJPW is renowned for its tournaments, such as the G1 Climax and Best of the Super Juniors. However, there's always room for improvement. We discuss potential rule changes and adjustments to tournament formats to keep them fresh and exciting.

Advertising is crucial for NJPW's growth, especially if their partnership with AEW changes. We explore strategies for boosting NJPW's visibility and appeal worldwide.

NJPW is a fascinating blend of tradition, innovation, and athleticism. By rethinking championships, factions, and tournaments, and by embracing new advertising strategies, NJPW can continue to captivate fans around the world. Join us as we unpack the future of NJPW and explore how this iconic promotion can evolve while staying true to its roots.

Welcome to the Squared Circle Podcast with your host Marie Shadows. Marie Shadows discusses the crisis of New Japan Pro Wrestling and the AEW and Tony Khan take over by buying all the NJPW top stars. NJPW has lost its aura and has allowed AEW to take their wrestlers. We are all watching the decline of NJPW and the rise of AEW in real time and I'm talking about it. I explain in depth why I do not consider Jon Moxley my champion and give ideas on best Jon Moxley could be that IWGP Champion - like be accepted by all and what he could do in Japan to raise awareness for AEW and NJPW.
