In his sermon Will argues that without spiritual gifts - the tools God has given us - we cannot realize our calling as disciples of Christ. Without these gifts we risk being 'sub-Christians'. Although much to pack in, each gift is looked in enough detail to encourage listeners to ask for those they feel they need.

We all put our hope in something – whether in God or money – and it is that which we serve. The worship of money is fuelled by promoting dissatisfaction and by the confusion of want with need; instead we should be content with what we have and put our trust in God, the abundant giver of good gifts, and not the gifts themselves which will disappoint. We must resist the lure of riches, disarming its power by giving sacrificially, using the biblical ‘tithe’ as a starting point.

Michael speaks of the comfort that God offers in times of difficulty: of divine joy, divine peace, divine power, and the divine promise for all our needs.
