Christians should expect and seek joy in God, even when the situation seems to be dire. Our mood is determined by our perspective which for Christians is informed by Jesus’ death and resurrection: a prophetic faith-perspective that gives joyful trusting calm even in adverse circumstances. As Habakkuk, we should rest in God’s purposes, rejoice in God’s salvation, and rely on God’s strength.
