Three questions to ponder:

How can we meet people with compassion by speaking God's word of love and power to them?

Are we open to be used by Jesus, with his power and love in us, to show compassion by practically bringing change to people's situations?

Do we pray, believing that Jesus, with his love and power, can practically transform situations and lives?

As they pass through the wilderness, God invites his people to listen to him, but they often grumble. Today in the university, there is opportunity to listen or to grumble. Wherever you are this week, will you listen or will you grumble?

Donald explores the meaning of Jesus’ summons to ‘Follow me’, both for the first disciples and for those who would be disciples now. Signing up for his kingdom or rule requires acceptance of God’s purposes in history to rescue our broken world, and each Christian is called to be part of that. Such a view of human life is profoundly countercultural.
