The woman at the well was of no great significance, of little importance, of no reputation expect that which is bad, yet when she encounters Jesus at Jacob’s Well her whole life is turned upside down. These precious blessed moments with Jesus spark a change so deep that she herself becomes a blessing. Could this happen here and could this be our story too?

Jesus says that he has come to preach the Good News, seek justice and show compassion, then we see him do exactly that as he heals many. Jesus does what he says he is going to do.

The letter to the church in Smyrna reminds us that we’re not the only church in the world, as it also teaches us how to prepare for persecution and endure persecution.
