Sunday 1st June 2025 - Seventh Sunday of Easter - Jen Green.

Revd John Edwards takes us back to how Luke narrates the book of Acts. Today we hear from Acts 16 how the disciples take the Gospel to Philippi. They are guided throughout by the Holy Spirit. John asks us how we discern what the holy Spirit is telling us today.

The first person to be converted was a woman, the second a slave girl and the third a Roman jailer. Not exactly the pillars of society - showing that the gospel is for everyone.

Revd Laura Wheatley Downs tells us about Mary's love in anointing Jesus early in his final week on earth. She followed the way of love. Just as the disciples did not understand what Mary was doing, so they did not understand what Jesus was doing. They would fall asleep, run away and deny him. Jesus is poured out for all.
