Sunday 9th March: Carin, Youth Worker with Crowthorne Hope Zone, joins us to share updates on their work.

Hope Zone provides a safe, after-school environment for children in Years 6, 7, and 8, and is one of the charities our church is delighted to support.

Revd Laura Wheatley Downs preached on the meaning of the hebrew word T'shuvah, which means so much more than "Repent". Her sermon was very moving and was followed by the application of ash to our heads as we begin Lent.

Our vicar, Revd Laura Wheatley Downs, echoed the words of Revd Marianne Budd at the inauguration of President Trump:

• ‘Honour the inherent dignity of every human being’

• ‘Be honest in private conversation and public

discourse’

• And ‘humility’ to see and recognise our own fallibility’

She called on us all to:

Advocate for the protection of Palestinian Rights

Press our government to reject any proposal that facilitates ethnic cleansing and permanent occupation

Affirm that peace cannot be built on the dispossession and suffering of an entire people but must be rooted in justice, dignity and the fundamental rights of all.
