Jesus defines your true identity. He gives you his life in place of your life.

Your conscience can accuse you. Satan himself can accuse you. But the price has been paid by Jesus, and nothing can separate you from him.

Moses with his law, Elijah and his blazing chariot, the dazzling glory of God - none of it saves you. Jesus – the true God who took on flesh to suffer, die, and rise again, who poured out his pure and holy blood to wash away all your sins – Jesus alone saves you.

Whatever demons you face, they have no power over Jesus - and because he conquered them at the cross, they have no power over you, either!

Serpent crusher. Son of God. Savior of the world. Jesus’ power over evil is your power over evil, too.

Like Peter, we confess that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. Everything revolves around the rock of that confession - the simple, powerful truth that the Holy Spirit brings repentance, forgiveness, and joy. Neither the gates of hell nor our weakness can ever destroy the church Jesus builds!

Jesus was baptized to give power to our baptism, filling it with his holiness and his perfection, replacing our death-filled existence with Christ’s life-filled existence.

As the Scriptures did for the wise men, so too they power our faith, and the object of our faith is Jesus.

Whether you wear elf ears or an ugly sweater on the outside, God has given us spiritual clothing we can truly rejoice in.

There are a lot of things about Christmas that we think are important, but what really counts is the birth of Jesus - not only for the miracle it is, but for what he arrived in our world to do.
