Jesus is not an abstract, wish-granting deity. He is a promised king whom no movement, idea, or evil can ever dethrone.

There are a lot of words in the Bible and the Lutheran Confessions heavy with meaning. But don’t starve your faith by avoiding them. The more we study God’s Word, the more our faith grows.

You may not feel like you belong at God’s table, but he has invited you and done everything necessary for you to be there. Honor him with your presence.
