False teachers say all kinds of things about Jesus, but in the end, he will only recognize his followers by what he has done for them, not by what they have done for him. If you wouldn't pick fruit out of thistles, you won't seek God's Word from people who aren't faithful to it.

Just as Jesus fed thousands with a few fish and some loaves, he provides for us, too, in the most important ways.
