Join us for the first chapter of Hosea

Many times we take our Lord’s words and begin trying to qualify the standards He sets to our circumstances in order to only nullify His words. When we are commanded to love our enemies and told to turn the other cheek, we often see this as extreme, but not so for us Christians. We are called to be in the world but not of it. How we live our lives should be starkly different to those around us and it should be a testament to our Lord Jesus Christ who sits enthroned upon our hearts.

As the Apostle’s fast draws closer to an end let our hearts and zeal be renewed in seeking our Lord. May we carry on and partake of that same love and joy that each of the Apostles experienced as they lived the Gospel

Even though the weather is cold, let our hearts not grow cold with love to each other and to our Lord. May His mercy and love inspire us to seek Him with greater devotion and may we ask Him to set our hearts ablaze with fervent love for Him

As we read the Holy Scriptures, there are many lessons and things which we can take and apply to our lives, however our Lord Christ wants us also to look deeper. To look not just at the surface, the temporal things, but to the eternal, the spiritual. In the story of the healing of the paralytic man, Christ heals him physically, but more than that, He heals him spiritually. Forgiving him of all his sins, which is the greater miracle and healing. Let us also look to our souls and ask our Lord to heal us truly, for we have been commanded that we should no longer look to the flesh, but to the spiritual, to the eternal!

Blessed Feast of Pentecost! Just as the disciples received the light of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, so also we as our Lord's disciples are called to do the same.
