Sometimes the path toward God can seem impossible to attain to. It can feel as if we will never be able to strive for the level that the saints achieved. However, through God all things are possible. Our Lord truly means this when He tells His disciples that if they truly want to find salvation then it is made possible through God.

Many times we take our Lord’s words and begin trying to qualify the standards He sets to our circumstances in order to only nullify His words. When we are commanded to love our enemies and told to turn the other cheek, we often see this as extreme, but not so for us Christians. We are called to be in the world but not of it. How we live our lives should be starkly different to those around us and it should be a testament to our Lord Jesus Christ who sits enthroned upon our hearts.

As the Apostle’s fast draws closer to an end let our hearts and zeal be renewed in seeking our Lord. May we carry on and partake of that same love and joy that each of the Apostles experienced as they lived the Gospel

Even though the weather is cold, let our hearts not grow cold with love to each other and to our Lord. May His mercy and love inspire us to seek Him with greater devotion and may we ask Him to set our hearts ablaze with fervent love for Him
