Pr Beth talks about the ways we receive God's best:

1.) Jesus taught his disciples how to pray

2.) Being persistent in prayer

3.) Gods gift is His Holy Spirit

Seminary student, Jaci Tiell, reminds us that, just like the story of Mary and Martha, our time is limited and full of distractions. We are often like Martha, worried about all of the little things we need to accomplish. We should be more like Mary, focused on what's important, our life with Jesus.

Seminary student Cindy Ritter reminds us that , like the good samaritan, we are called to serve our neighbor and show love to our fellow man.

Want a carpenter? Just ask a person handy with tools. Want someone for the finance board? Ask an accountant. Want someone to spread the Word of God? Now that can be a challenge! Pastor Al Baumann, retired St. Mark pastor, gives advice on ways we can comfortably talk about God in our lives.

Live by the Spirit, I say, and do not gratify the desires of the flesh, set aside the works of the flesh and ask God to fill us with the Holy Spirit.

In this sermon, we learn that Jesus has power over demons, He gives his disciples the power, and He intends us to be free from demons. We have these resources avail. to us- confession, counseling, treatment, medication, and prayer

In this passage, Jesus had to contend with with people being skeptical and uncomfortable. We are told be Pastor Beth that we need to know that God gives extravagant grace, that we need to receive gifts with grace, that we need to give freely and with grace, and that we choose how to interpret situations- and to interpret them with grace!

The real story of ministry in this passage was to the widow, mother of the dead boy. Jesus was able to bring her back from a sense of hopelessness. To experience Jesus bringing us back from hopelessness we need to do four things. Acknowledge the situation, Be open to Divine intereuption, Receive God's touch, and Be hopeful!
