In this sermon, Pastor Beth shares four points about Godly obedience from the Gospel of John: Obedience is a slipping value in our culture, Obedience implies action, we obey cause we love God, and God gives us instructions to obey cause He loves us.

When looking at change- we need to consider three things. We all have difficulty with change, there is a process of Godly change, and we need to be mindful of our intentions.

Reference verse 25 (My sheep hear my voice)

We hear many different voices during our day that have the following:

1. Authority

2. Familiarity

3. Compassion

Jesus voice has all three

Jesus come again and again and speaks to us again and again.

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not be in want;

He makes me lie down in green pastures - Jesus is commanding

He restores my soul and guides me along right pathways – Jesus is Fimiliar

He prepares a table before me – Jesus has compassion

Why do we not listen:

Defiance

Our own story going on in our head

General distraction of our lives

Jesus tells us exactly what we want to hear.

Psalm 30

On this the 18th day of April, 2010, Pastor Beth Giller talked about the ups and downs of committing to God. This is a life time ride with God. Trusting and believing in the foundation of God, because God commits to us. Even in the highs and lows of our life because God has committed to us.

1. There are times when God hides his face.

2. God commits to us, all of us. God created a beautiful place for us.

3. God will never let us go even if we think he has.

4. We decide day by day if we will commit to him.

Gospels are similar:

1 The women found the empty tomb

2 The tomb is empty

3 The women go tell the other apostles

The sermon talked about what happens in Acts 5: 27-32

Witnesses have evidence, they have a story, and they give testimony.

How can you talk about Jesus? Practice/prepare, coaching, pray for the right words, surround yourself with people that will talk about Jesus

In this sermon, we look at the example of a caterpillar's transformation into a butterfly

Die, rise, and fly, examples of transformation.

Because Jesus, himself was transformed we have the privilege to be transformed; (the gift of forgiveness)

Jesus takes the expectation of the people around him and turns them around.

1. Jesus takes role of servant

2. Jesus accepts the fact that he will be betrayed.

3. Jesus issues a new commandment of; that you love one another as I have loved you. The meaning of Maundy Thursday.

This is my body; This is my blood

In tonight's passage, the entire city of Ninevah repents. Fortunately for us all, God is graceful and not fair.

As Christians, Grace is our gift given by God. Focus on our goal of living a Christian life and press on toward that goal.

In this sermon we learn three things about all of God's servants: they are flawed, their flaws/sins make them more effective communicators of the Gospel, and God always has an answer to our objections.
