In this homily given at St. Pat's on Sunday, August 27th, 2023 Fr. Kevin Darwent preaches on when Jesus poses each of us with this intentional question "Who do you say that I am?", what is our personal response to Him?
In this homily given on Sunday August 20, 2023, Fr Mathias applies Isaiah's prophecy about the Temple being a "house of prayer for all peoples" to the Church and St Pat's church sanctuary for Sunday Mass. The church sanctuary is to be a place of prayer in which we can encounter the living God and be a place where visitors, guests and strangers can be welcomed and loved as they search for God. Unlike the homily series on the Mass (December 2021) in which how to pray in the Mass is covered, the practical considerations in this homily reinforce both that the church sanctuary is a holy place of prayer and that we need to be loving toward those who come to Mass to seek God.
What does it look like to be in a relationship with the Living God? In this homily given at St. Pat's on Sunday, August 13th, 2023 Deacon Joshua Fons breaks open the story of St. Peter walking on the water and what it teaches us about following Jesus wherever He calls us to go.

In this homily given at St Pat's on July 30, 2023, Fr. Miguel preaches on the rich and insightful parable Jesus gives today, the parable of the treasure hidden in the field. In this parable, Jesus reveals to us how the Kingdom of heaven is like a treasure, a treasure that fulfills the deepest desires of our hearts. When we find it, we can no longer remain the same, but joyfully center our lives around it. What is that treasure? How do we know we've found it?
On the 55th Anniversary of Pope St. Paul VI issuing Humanae Vitae, (Sunday July 23rd, 2023), Deacon Joshua Fons preaches on Natural Family Planning. Will we cooperate with God's loving plan for family life? Or will we try to be in control?
In this homily given at St Pat's on July 16, 2023, Fr. Miguel preaches on God's forgiveness, reminding us that we do not have to be worthy of forgiveness in order to receive God's forgiveness.
In this homily given on Sunday July 9, 2023, Fr Mathias preaches on Jesus' invitation to us, "Come to me who labor and are burdened and I will give you rest." (Mt 11:28). When we're exhausted, overwhelmed or even discouraged in the Christian life we all the more need to come to Jesus for rest. Child-like humility is the key to coming to Jesus in prayer. Father offers a simple three step process of coming to Jesus for rest:
1) Believe Jesus wants to give you rest
2) Honestly share with him about what's on your heart
3) Allow him to love you in your pain
Father offers a couple of examples of what this simple process looks like in his own struggles. He ends his homily inviting everyone to "come to Jesus" in Holy Communion so Jesus can give us the rest we need.
Jesus issues a challenging message to his disciples in Sunday's Gospel that they must love Jesus above even members of their own family. In this homily given at St. Pat's on Sunday, July 2nd, 2023 Fr. Miguel preaches on how loving God above our families will actually help us love our families better.
In this homily given at St. Pat's on Sunday, June 25th, 2023 Deacon Joshua Fons preaches on the reality of Original sin, and the truth that God is not content to let our sin and brokenness have the last word in our lives.
