Our fifth and final talk for Good Friday considers Mark 15:40-47; the women and Joseph bearing witness to Jesus' death, and the invitation to us to bear witness in our laments to Jesus and the things Jesus calls us to.

Our fourth talk for Good Friday considers the end of Psalm 22 (verses 22-31), and the hope that can be found as we express our laments to God.

Our third talk for Good Friday considers Mark 15:33-39, the point at which Jesus dies.

The second of our Good Friday talks considers Psalm 22:1-21, a psalm Jesus quoted on the cross, and is the lament of someone in a desperate position.

Our theme for Good Friday is lament, a way of praying and worshipping that can richly enhance our experience. In this first talk we consider the account of Jesus' trial in Mark 15:1-32. This presents us with a series of choice made by Jesus and others in the story; and invites us to consider our response to similar choices we make now.

As we finish our series on death, dying and loss, we consider how the Palm Sunday story helps place joyful, truthful and honest worship of Jesus as an authentic response to the reality of mortality. Luke 19:28-44

The death of a person we love isn't the only sort of loss we experience. Life is full of losses of different types, which it's helpful and healing to deal with in appropriate ways. Using the Passover in Exodus 12, Arthur Stewart guides us through this important issue, suggesting some practical ways we can navigate our experiences of loss.

We all grieve; so how do we do it well? This recording missed off the first few minutes of the introduction of the talk.

Having a healthy view of death will change our use of our money and possessions, our attitude to our reputation and so much else. We'll want our actions and words to measure up to each other.

Eternal life is something to wait for until we die - it starts here and now. And by thinking about difficult things we otherwise want to push away, we can be people who are dependent on God and of use to others in the darkest of times. Ephesians 2:1-10.
