March 11, 2018 - St. Paul teaches us that we should be imitators of God as dearly beloved children. In child-like innocence children have a great tendency to mimic their parents. This is how we are both created and called to live in and from God. In this reflection, we are reminded of the truth that we become that which we do. As we live in fellowship with God and begin to imitate Him in our lives, we we become more like Him by grace throughout all our days.

The formal definition of a Sacrament is "an outward and physical sign of an inward and spiritual grace." In other words, a Sacrament is God taking the stuff of His creation and through it working the wonders of the Kingdom of Heaven. In this teaching we explore the Seven Sacraments of Christ's Holy Church showing how each works by His will to offer us all of the benefits of the Kingdom of God and provide healing to the soul.

In Hebrews Chapter 11 we have both the definition of faith as well as the great Litany of Faith containing so many men and women honored by God as examples of those who had such faith. In this session we look to the Church's teaching regarding this definition of faith and we explore the lives of Abraham, Joseph, and Moses to see this definition lived out in their lives. Faith comes by the granted revelation and experience of God. It begins and ends with Him. Jesus Christ is the author and finisher of our faith.

March 5, 2018 -Doxology is a word that means "a liturgical formula to praise God." We find doxology all throughout Holy Scripture as well as in the Prayer Services and Liturgy of the Church. In this homily we are reminded that our lives are to be a continual great Doxology offered back to God.

Why do Orthodox Christian say "Memory Eternal" regarding those who have fallen asleep in the Lord? The answer to this is deeply rooted in the Church's understanding regarding the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. This class focuses on Christ and His Resurrection.

Having revealed Christ as the Great High Priest and communicated how far Jesus has gone to make the way for our salvation, the writer of Hebrews changes his tone for a moment. He speaks a harsh truth in love in order to call the Hebrew Christians who have abandoned their faith back into their Lord Jesus Christ. In the midst of the loving chastisement, we come to a better understanding of why we are not to neglect the Eucharistic Assembly of God's people.

Feb. 26, 2018 - As we offer up prayers for the soul of Samuel Kalil, III we, at the same time, receive the grace of God to walk through this season of grieving. This homily is a reflection on Christ as the Resurrection and the life who steps into our deepest suffering, wraps us up in Himself, and gives us strength to endure.

Feb. 25, 2018 - The Church's discipline of fasting during the 40 days of Lent, indeed the Season of Lent itself, is modeled after the very life of our Lord Jesus Christ. After Jesus was baptized, the Holy Spirit leads Jesus into the wilderness where He would fast and commune with His Father for 40 days. After those 40 days Satan would helplessly temp the Savior to sin. His 40 days paved the way for His people to fast and commune with the Father so that we might grow in His grace to become what we have been reborn to truly be...overcomers of sin.

Feb. 21, 2018 - On Ash Wednesday, we have ashes that represent our mortality placed upon our foreheads. Why? At the beginning of Lent Christ, through His Church, asks us to have our mortality on the forefront of our minds. Unfortunately, our culture has taught us that we should recoil at the thought of our mortality. But in the culture of the Kingdom of God to focus on and always remember our mortality is a great blessing used of God to bring us always to Himself in order that our soul may find healing and deliverance in time of need. This reflection is a focus on the great blessing of our mortality.

We are invited twice in the Book of Hebrews to come boldly before the "Throne of Grace" in one place and "into the Holy of Holies" in another. But what does this mean? How can we, who are full of sin and so frail, come before God with boldness? And what does boldness even mean? The answer lies in the very nature of God; Who He is and all that He has done for us and for our salvation.
