Paul faces more challenges in Corinth but continues to speak Jesus and, despite set backs, begins to bear fruit. We too must be faithful to speak Jesus to those that desperately need to hear about the hope we have in knowing him.

Paul is invited to stand before the cultural gatekeepers in Athens. Despite feeling like they are a united group, they were made up of opposing worldview. Paul uses his understanding to cut through them and proclaim the uniqueness of Jesus. He challenges both worldview without becoming bedfellows with either.

Paul is accused of 'turning the world upside down'; what does that mean? How do we know if the world is upside down or not?

Paul faces continual opposition and persecution, ending up in prison. How does he respond? Praise and prayer. He continues to be faithful to his calling and gets on with it.

Who is called to evangelise? What is the ‘good news’ that we are to proclaim? Can evangelism be done without it being manipulative or strange?

Paul and his companions are hindered from their ministry but discern it is by God. How do we discern when we're facing worldly or spiritual opposition and when are we being directed by God? During this time Luke enters the story of Acts and the it changes from third person to first person. Are we being called to move our view of the mission and ministry of the Church from 'they' to 'we'?

Ned has a friend called Matt Woodcock. They have a explosive and fractious relationship but they are still friends after 10 years. How have they survived and now thrived in their relationship? How have they learnt to disagree well?

Ned begins the year by reflecting on 2019 and setting out a vision of being 'prophetic signs' for our parish, diocese and nation. How do we share what we've learnt over the last 3 years with the wider context?
