  • Sean W. Willson on The Hundred Lives I Lived Before You | Love Across Alternate Realities

What if you lived a hundred different lives, travelled through countless worlds, and then met the one person who made you want to stay?

We’re joined by author Sean W. Willson on Spill the Book to talk about his genre-bending novel, The Hundred Lives I Lived Before You, a love story that throws romance, alternate realities, pirates, planets, kingdoms, and some seriously complicated life choices into the same universe.

Meet Ren, a man who wakes up in different eras and realities without warning. He has no control over where he goes next, until he meets someone who makes him question everything.

We’re getting into the inspiration behind the book, building worlds that refuse to stay still, writing romance across alternate realities, creating emotional twists without spoiling the mystery, and deciding whether love really is worth risking everything for.

And because this is Spill the Book, we’re not letting Sean escape without a little chaos.

We put him through rapid-fire bookish questions, impossible Would You Rather dilemmas, fictional character confessions, and our Build-a-Romance challenge, where the ingredients for a romance novel get progressively more questionable.

Will Sean create a sweeping love story or a literary disaster involving an emotionally unavailable dragon? You'll have to watch to find out.

    In this episode:

    • The story behind The Hundred Lives I Lived Before You

    • Writing romance across alternate realities

    • The challenge of creating different worlds, timelines, and characters

    • Love, fate, identity, and finding your place in the world

    • Sean's writing process and life as an author

    • Bookish confessions, fictional character red flags, and rapid-fire questions

    • Build-a-Romance: author edition

  • Spooky Season TBR: Upcoming Books, Witches & Our Chaotic Horror Story

Spooky season is here, the TBR is out of control, and apparently we thought the best solution was to invent an entire horror novel ourselves.

Welcome back to Stace & Jace Spill the Book, where we spill the tea on books, questionable reading decisions, and whatever literary nonsense happens when two book lovers get together.

In this spooky episode, we're talking about our most anticipated upcoming books for October, November, and December 2026. We're looking at witches, haunted houses, dark fantasy, magical creatures, mysterious family secrets, and romances that could go spectacularly wrong.

Books on our spooky season radar:

THE WITCH by Freida McFadden — A creepy seventeenth-century family estate, a clock that stops at 3:41 a.m., mysterious voices, and a possible connection to the Salem witch trials. What could possibly go wrong?

DEFY THE DUSK by Danielle L. Jensen — A post-apocalyptic fantasy filled with dangerous magic, nocturnal monsters, political intrigue, enemies-to-lovers tension, and a feral king who might be more trouble than he's worth.

MY UNFAMILIAR by Mara Rutherford — A grumpy mage, a magical matchmaking mishap, a mysterious familiar bond, and a cozy fantasy romance that might just get wonderfully chaotic.

    But that's not all.

We're also building our own spooky novel from scratch. There's a ghost named Elias, a creepy Victorian house, photographs that shouldn't exist, a suspicious basement, and secrets that keep getting worse. We take turns adding to the story, and once something becomes canon, neither of us can take it back.

Will we create a genuinely terrifying thriller, a twisted supernatural mystery, or the most unhinged book never to see a publishing contract?

    You decide.

    JOIN THE SPILL SQUAD
Subscribe to the channel, like the episode, and tell us which upcoming book deserves a spot on your TBR.

    COMMENT BELOW:
Would you rather move into a haunted Victorian mansion, survive a world full of nocturnal monsters, or become magically bonded to a grumpy mage?

And the most important question of all: if your boyfriend was a ghost, would you date him? Finally, a man with no baggage. Just a body bag.

  • Robb Moreira Interview: The Voice of Ridoc from Fourth Wing | Audiobook, Acting & Make It Spill

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU PUT RIDOC'S VOICE BEHIND THE MICROPHONE… AND THEN START ASKING QUESTIONS?

Today on Spill the Book, we're joined by the incredibly talented Robb Moreira, the voice behind Ridoc—the character who somehow manages to make questionable decisions sound completely charming.

    You know the guy.

The one who walks into a life-or-death situation and you immediately think:

“Oh good. He's going to make this worse.”

    Yep.

    That guy.

But today we're stepping away from the character and getting to know the person behind the microphone.

In this episode, we talk with Robb about voice acting, audiobook narration, bringing fictional characters to life, reading scripts, performance, and what it's actually like to become the voice listeners hear in their heads.

And because this is Spill the Book…

    We couldn't possibly behave ourselves.

    We're getting personal.

    We're reading scripts together.

And we're bringing back one of our favourite games:

    🔥 MAKE IT SPILL

Where we take a perfectly innocent sentence and make it hotter, more awkward, more dramatic, or significantly sadder than any human being should reasonably have to experience.

So will Robb maintain his dignity?

    Absolutely not.

    Probably.

    Maybe.

    We're very sorry in advance.

If you're a fan of Ridoc, audiobooks, voice actors, audiobook narration, fantasy books, bookish interviews, or the people behind the voices that make fictional characters feel real, you're going to want to listen to this one.

What makes an audiobook narrator unforgettable to you?

    Is it the character voices?

    The emotion?

The ability to make you completely forget you're listening to someone read?

Ever make your Book of the Month picks and then realize the next month is going to have to suffer the consequences?

    Same.

Welcome back, Spill Squad! Today we’re wrapping up our latest reads with the books we immediately recommend, have VERY strong thoughts about, and absolutely did not see coming.

    And this month?

We’ve got fake marriage. Vampires. Assassins. Academic rivals. An immortal warrior trapped in a sword. Alternate realities. Death. And somehow… shampoo.

    So clearly, we’re fine.

    Our TBRs are not.

We’re talking about the books that owned us, surprised us, frustrated us, and had us screaming “YOU NEED TO READ THIS.”

Plus, we’re taking our romance tropes to TROPE COURT, because apparently reading a romance means we also need to put fictional relationships on trial.

  • Hilarious 1-Star Book Reviews, Indie Authors & August Book Recommendations | Spill the Book

Some books get five stars. Some books get one star. And some one-star reviews deserve their own damn podcast. 😂

Welcome back to Spill the Book, where books become entertainment, our TBRs make terrible financial decisions, and apparently we are here to read the most absolutely UNHINGED one-star book reviews the internet has to offer.

Today, we're spilling a little bit of everything.

    🔥 FIRST: THE ONE-STAR REVIEWS

We’re reading some of the funniest, most savage and completely unhinged one-star reviews we could find.

From Yesteryear to Daggermouth, Dungeon Crawler Carl and Where the Crawdads Sing, these reviewers did NOT come to play.

    Some are critiques.

    Some are personal attacks.

And some make us question whether the reviewer—or the book—will ever recover. 😂

    📚 THEN: BOOKISH GAMES

Because apparently reading books isn't enough chaos, we're playing a couple of bookish games and giving ourselves even more opportunities to embarrass ourselves.

📬 THEN IT'S TIME FOR THE SPILL THE BOOK MAIL & MAYHEM AFTERSPILL

Remember those indie books we unwrapped?

We're finally giving you the afterthoughts, introducing you to the authors, talking about their books and telling you where you can find them.

❤️ TWO AUGUST INDIE RELEASES WE ACTUALLY READ AND LOVED

We're talking about Tessa Brookfield's Who's Fixing Who, a chaotic rom-com packed with chemistry, mystery and plot twists…

…and The Hundred Lives I Lived Before You, a genre-bending speculative romance about a man who wakes up in different lives, eras and worlds—and finally finds someone worth staying for.

Basically: your TBR is about to get longer.

    Again.

    You're welcome.

Before I Deserved You — Nomi J. Avery
Small-town romantic suspense | Friends to lovers | He falls first | Hidden love

    Falling Up / Zero I — Rodger E. Carty

Historical magical realism | 1933 Oklahoma | Dust Bowl | Secret identity

🔥 WHAT HAPPENS WHEN AN AUTHOR, A VOICE ACTOR, AND BOOK LOVERS GET TOGETHER? THINGS GET SPICY.

This week on Spill the Book, we're joined by the incredibly talented Ashe Grayson, an up-and-coming author and voice actor, for a conversation about writing, publishing, spicy scenes, and what it actually takes to turn the dream of becoming an author into a reality.

We get into the questions readers REALLY want to ask:

🔥 How do you write a spicy scene without making it cringe?
🔥 What is it actually like becoming a published author?
🔥 How do you go from writing the scene to HEARING someone perform it?
🔥 What's the journey from aspiring writer to published author?
🔥 How does voice acting change the way you approach a book?
🔥 And what happens when your own words get performed out loud?

And because we couldn't behave ourselves, Ashe brought some scenes from her book to perform with BOOK PLAYER VA!!!!

Then we played one of our favourite games:

We take a sentence and make it HOTTER.
    Then MORE DRAMATIC.
Then… whatever the hell happens next.

Because apparently one version of a perfectly innocent sentence was not enough.

If you're an aspiring author, romance reader, spicy-book lover, audiobook fan, voice-acting enthusiast, or just someone who enjoys watching book people make questionable decisions, you're going to want to watch this one.
