A distinct stereotype comes to mind when one thinks of the word activist. It is often associated with a coercive, retaliatory, or even violent persona. In this episode, CFFS director Kimberly Miller and national training director Mary Baker explore an alternative, more transformative view of the activist moniker that emerged over the course of a three-month collaborative discussion among members of Local Activist Accelerator. Three key characteristics, along with their distinguishing traits, became clear. Mary Baker has consolidated the results of the conversation into a newly-produced video called Portrait of a Local Activist that will inspire a new, more hopeful perspective of what it means to participate in the public process to effect change.

CFFS Executive Director Kimberly Miller and CFFS National Training Director Mary Baker unite to resume the Stand & Deliver Podcast.
The recent observance of Constitution Day on Sept. 17 is the springboard for this week's conversation and centers around the idea that the document and the form of government was intended for an engaged citizenry. Kimberly and Mary explore what that means, especially in light of unalienable rights and the concepts of power versus authority. Highlighted within the discussion are three recent news stories that illustrate how citizens are most effective exercising their power and influence and power at the local level.
Patrick Wood is welcomed back as Stand & Deliver podcast resumes. Today, CFFS Executive Director Kimberly Miller and Pat talk about the young Christian teenager who was arrested in Watertown, Wisconsin. As he was reading from the Bible on a public sidewalk near a drag queen show, police abruptly grabbed his microphone and handcuffed him. Every First Amendment right was violated.
Kimberly and Pat discuss the event in light of Citizen Ninja training offered through the Local Activist Accelerator. New recruits are invited to join www.LocalActivist.org to get prepared for civic engagement at all levels.

On Episode 61 of Stand and Deliver....Patrick and Bob discuss a potentially dangerous bill that blurs the lines between who is fighting for free speech in the federal government and who is opposed. The bill to ban TikTok, the viral sensation owned and controlled by the Chinese Communist Party, sounds like a good one on the surface, but is there language in the bill that would allow the government to suppress other "threats to national security" as the government may define it? Could the "RESTRICT" act dangerously expand the national security state? Also up for discussion, the IRS appears to be targeting independent journalist Matt Taibbi for his deep dive reporting on the ties between social media companies and Democrat politicians, putting all journalists on notice that their freedom of the press might have more limitations than they realize. We also discuss the "political economy" of free speech, as well as speech that is NOT protected by the First Amendment when it is used to threaten the lives of those with whom you disagree. All of this is on the table on the latest Stand and Deliver...so be sure to share this episode with like-minded Free Speech Defenders! Episode #60 of Stand and Deliver brings a follow up to the Stanford law story presented in Episode #59. The Dean of the Stanford Law school has now suspended the administrator who joined students in heckling and attacking a federal judge who spoke to the students, and is standing up to the unruly students who are outraged at her apology to the judge on their behalf. Also, another university has free speech issues, this time at the University of Central Florida, where a professor has sued the school for terminating him on the basis of his own questions on the subject of anti-racism. Higher education is truly a battleground on which the First Amendment will either be strengthened or buried forever. And finally, will the United States allow people to use proper and accepted grammar when referring to other people, or will this nation become Canada, which jails people for not using "preferred" and "invented" pronouns? Those issues and more are addressed on this episode...enjoy the conversation, and please share with other Free Speech Defenders!
On Episode 59 of Stand and Deliver…Patrick and Bob discuss the case of the Stanford law students who want to practice constitutional law, but who don’t seem to understand how the First Amendment to the Constitution works. Also up for discussion, the embarrassment of a U.S. Senator who openly expressed a desire to censor America citizens from discussing the best way to protect their own money in the face of a massive bank failure. Finally, a free speech victory in the latest pronoun battle! Tune in to this weeks episode, and look for a new episode each Friday!
Patrick and Bob take on the question of what limits are there to the First Amendments when it comes to obscenity or age-appropriate public assemblies. A small town in Ohio granted a permit for a Drag Time Story Hour and drag performance targeting children, arguing that the First Amendment protects the event, even in a public park. Were they right? Also, a major win for free speech as a controversial nominee to the FCC withdraws herself from consideration, and Patrick shares the story of a college prep school in AZ that has gone woke and begun the process of teaching students to censor ideas and speech with which they do not agree. Get the details on all these stories on this episode, and be sure to share it with fellow free speech warriors!
Episode 57: This amazing interview with Michael Hoskinson of Huntington Beach, California explains how his team of local activists successfully took their city back and are now driving out destructive policies. Share this with EVERYONE!
On Episode 56 of Stand and Deliver...Patrick and Bob discuss the disturbing case of a student arrested in Canada for expressing his opinion...and then try to decide how long it will take for this to be done in America. A 16-year-old student in a private, Catholic school was ejected from his school for disagreeing with rules regarding biological males and females in school restrooms, and eventually arrested for trespassing when trying to return to class. Canada does not abide by the U.S. Bill of Rights, but our concern is that the U.S. will soon be the same way. Cancel culture is real, and expressing opinions that challenge the prevailing Leftist orthodoxy is a recipe for disaster. The guys also try to peel back the layers of the Artificial Intelligence onion. With major U.S. publishers turning to AI to write stories for them, the questions of liability and of First Amendment protections begin to turn in many different directions.
