Today's episode is very close to my heart, with my sister-in-law Naomi and nephew Tyler discussing gender, identity and the courage to stand in the truth of who we are.
Last year, Tyler socially transitioned as a transgender male. This was a pretty big surprise for our extended family and I was really proud of how everyone embraced Tyler's announcement - we may not have understood it completely, but we love Tyler and that's all that matters. Subsequently, we've all tried to learn how best to support Tyler.
In this episode, I spoke with Tyler and Naomi about how the transition has been so far, how they have navigated big conversations as a family, and what advice they'd give to other young people and parents who are facing similar discussions on gender and identity.
