Once, Jesus was being entertained by someone who, if this had happened in 2024, we'd probably identify as a respectable church leader. But then along comes someone who is very disreputable. What does Jesus do and say ... and why does he do what he does? Listen and find out!

When Jesus lived on Earth, many people couldn't figure out who he was - just a strange person? a magician? a fraud? or what? Was Jesus a prophet? It's what some of the people who met him on Earth, 2000-odd years ago said. If he was then, uniquely, he was both prophet and the fulfillment of prophecy. The same people who said he was a prophet also said that he was God come to meet his people. Time to discover a bit more about this 'prophet'?

The first church didn't have any traditions. It didn't have a rule book. Yet, even though the members of that church came from many countries and few had met each other before, they got on famously. How come? Sounds like we could all do with learning a few lessons from them!

"Sunday is the day of rest" - how's your 'rest' going? Napoleon is famously supposed to have asked his soldiers to have one day off in 10 only to find his army wasted. Could there be a 7-day cycle built in to humans? The beginning of the Bible has something to say about that. And what is 'rest' anyway? They say that a change is as good as a rest ... maybe you and I just need a change once a week!

Everyone works - some are paid, some wish they were paid, some are happy to volunteer, some work out of love, some work under duress, some wish their work was different, for some the hardest work is just starting the day. Last week we went right back to the start in the first chapter of the first part of the Bible - to find out what the universe that God created tells us about God. Today we're going to look particularly what it says about humanity. There's lot around about our identities - are they fixed by birth or can we decide? Are women better than men or vice-versa or... Not surprisingly, God has something to say about this! So we're going to try and find out what that is.
