Abraham gets a good press in the Bible ... mostly. But like every human (except Jesus Christ) he's fallible and can be corrupt. In this second look at his life we find him running scared and making some very bad decisions - with fallout in every direction. In fact, he's uncomfortably like us even though he lived about 4000 years ago!

Today we start our new series from the life of Abraham as recorded in the Bible book of Genesis. In this first look we find God making promises to Abram (as he was then known). Why? Because God is merciful! Why not join us each Sunday over the next couple of months as we track through the many interactions between Abram/Abraham and God.

Today is 'Pentecost' - the day when the Church has traditionally celebrated the day on which the Holy Spirit came in a fantastic way, empowering Jesus Christ's disciples to act like never before! After Jesus Christ had returned to Heaven they had been hiding from the political authorities of their day ... but then the Holy Spirit changed everything and, in one day, the first church was established with thousands of members.
