Today we take a look at one of the shortest books in the Bible: the second letter written by the Apostle John to Christians in the 1st century. John is keen to tell his readers of the importance of love, rooted in the truth of Christ. And it's a message we need to learn as well.

Today we take a look at the Lord Jesus Christ - not the baby in a manger but the risen and resplendent Lord of all, as the Apostle John glimpsed him, as recorded in the first chapter of the Bible's book of named 'Revelation'.

Each year, we give the Church family a verse for the year. For 2023 we chose Proverbs 3 verses 5- 6. You can get a copy as a bookmark from the Church office if you want. Today's sermon is based on those two verses.

December 25th - Saviour

Here's a 'special' podcast. On 1st January 2023 we had a joint service with other churches in our area to praise God at the start of the new year and to hear an explanation of his word that would help us in 2023. Given the uncertain and unsettling situation that faces us - rising cost-of-living, employment disputes, war in Europe, immigration, as well as the specific issues unique to each individual - we looked at God's message that we can learn to be content, even at such a time.

This is the fifth and last of a series of 5 services based on some of the "Great Words of Christmas". We don't mean 'turkey' or 'carols' or 'crackers' or 'presents', not even 'Santa' - no, we've been looking at the words that describe the great change that God brought about when his son, Jesus Christ, was born that first Christmas. And today we have the great word "Saviour", especially as God speaks to us from the beginning of the first book in the Bible's second part. There we read about the naming of the baby born to Mary on the first Christmas Day.

This is the fourth (and last) of a shot series explaining who Christians are (or, at least, who we should be). Today, we come to understand that everybody should worship God because he is worth it - worth listening to, worth speaking to, worth trusting, worth adoring.
