August 28th - The Apostles' Creed …

This week we look at the tenth (and last) set of words of the Apostles' Creed - "We believe in the resurrection of the body and life everlasting". It will be a new beginning for those who've trusted  Christ for their salvation as Jesus Christ will never stop being their king, giving them success in their everlasting lives of worship.

This week we look at the ninth set of words of the Apostles' Creed - "We believe in the Church". We're reminded that the Church is Christ's - a body of chosen people for whom he has died so he can make each one holy - set apart to worship him forever.

This week we look at the eighth set of words of the Apostles' Creed - "We believe in the Holy Spirit". We discover that when the Holy Spirit is to be worshipped and honoured just as much as God the Father and just as much as Jesus Christ. His activity may sometimes be hidden but it is essential for every Christian's life and for the salvation of those not yet worshippers of God.

This week we look at the seventh set of words of the Apostles' Creed - "Jesus Christ ... will come again to judge the living and the dead". We discover that when Jesus returns he will come in great glory and will divide people not on the basis of their character, social position, 'goodness' or most other things that we so often use to distinguish people but, instead, on the basis of their trust in him.

We discover the confidence we can have in Jesus as he acts as our advocate to God the Father, and the strength we can draw from that in our everyday lives.

Death has been overcome, not just for Jesus Christ but for everyone who he names as his followers - those who've trusted him for their resurrection.
