Commander Divelle returns to the Kintsugi, only to walk into the outbreak of an unknown plague. Together with Dr Pergral, they work to protect the crew and understand the connection to the Arias Plague. Meanwhile Litaal tracks down some logistical anomalies which ends up with him at disruptor point. Captain Vate tracks back to uncover the real reason behind Hephaestus Station's need for his ship's computers and discovers the secret behind a dangerous sentience.
