The Endeavour, now once again resuming its primary duty inside the Shackleton Expanse, was enjoying an evening of downtime celebrating the promotion of Jak to the rank of Lieutenant.  When the rank was appointed, Jak opened up emotionally for the first time in his speech.  He was a child of two worlds always feeling split apart from who he is, and finally he had found his true home on Endeavour.  The crowd was moved, gave a thunderous ovation, followed by good cheer and refreshments.

Dr. Wetherby and Commander Kirek rushed to his side, and after assessing his condition, beamed him directly to sick bay.

After several weeks of diversion and delay, the Endeavour is approaching the border of the Shackleton Expanse.  We have had our final crew rotation last week, and there is a positive attitude amongst the crew; excited to be back to our primary mission.  My heart gladdens as we head into uncharted space again.

The Endeavour has positioned itself at a unique point near the McLaren nebula, to witness a truly unique astronomical event.  At this exact point in the sector, two solar eclipses will be visible.

It is a special opportunity for our astronomy sciences team to study the light distortion effects that are a truly rare gift.  Starfleet is looking forward to hearing the results of our experiments, and the crew are delighted to take part in a more sociable event taking place aboard Endeavour
