Star Trek Universe

We discuss the first two Very Short Treks, "Skin a Cat" and "Holiday Party", grouse about Paramount's disgusting exclusion of Prodigy from their 50th Animation Anniversary celebration, and review Lower Decks 4x03, "In The Cradle of Vexilon". A fun time, maman. Gather the kiddies. Cover their ears. Enjoy your adult Star Trek podcast, maman.

Kirk done split himself in two, maman. Sometimes we should acknowledge that we are the sum of our parts, good and bad. And sometimes we need to tie all our rope together so we can lower down a pot of hot coffee for a frosty Sulu.

Dave and Effie discuss "Mudd's Women", maman. Trek Goes Trafficking. It ain't pretty, maman. Until they take them pills. Then it's pretty but still bad. How did they manage to make Mudd into a comic foil? Yikes and yuck, maman.

Dave and Effie review Star Trek 1x03, "The Corbomite Maneuver". But if we had a video component, you would see we were just doing voiceover for very intimidating-looking puppets, maman. Don't be scared. You can only hear us.

Our time with Strange New Worlds season 2 has sadly ended with 2x10, "Hegemony." The Gorn have taken a world on the outskirts of Federation space. Batel and Chapel are on the wrong side of the line. It's a wild ride, maman. Thrills, chills, and baby gorn spills. Good thing we have Pike as our own Hegemony Cricket, doling out enough conscience to cover our crew who seems to have lost theirs.

Then we review the first Star Trek musical, "Subspace Rhapsody" (Strange New Worlds 2x09). They have notes and so do we, maman.

Themes of loss and empathy make up for a predictable Star Trek episode, maman. But we sure had fun talking about Strange New Worlds 2x06, "Lost in Translation"...
