The Valkyrie is assigned to a Task Force along with the Lexington, Plymouth, Majestic and Valiant to patrol the Romulan Neutral Zone after reports of Romulan attacks in the area.

Captain Edward Stanfield is given command of the new Constellation Class USS Valkyrie on short notice, after the death of her original Captain.
