Star Wars: Comics In Canon - Ep 69: Destination Hoth: Vader Fights Chewie, Han Is Captured & Poe’s Parents (Star Wars #73-75 & Empire Ascendant)
Mike embarks on the final issues of the 2015 main Star Wars run of comics; Rogues & Rebels! In this finale, Luke recovers his lightsaber, Han is captured by Boss Carpo, Chewbacca goes head-to-head with Darth Vader and C-3PO makes some new friends, while Empire Ascendant’s “An Echo Of Victory” provides a small window into the mindset of Poe Dameron’s parents; Shara Bey & Kes Dameron! Plus Mike provides information on the Wampas of Hoth and some history of A-Wings!
These stories are all set just before Empire Strikes Back, around 3 ABY.
Star Wars 73-75 were written by Greg Pak, with Phil Noto as the artist and colour artist. “An Echo Of Victory” from Empire Ascendant was written by Charles Soule with Luke Ross as artist, Guru eFX as colour artist. Issue 73 of Star Wars was released October 2019, issue 75 was released November 2019, Empire Ascendant was released December 2019 and the trade paperback collection was released March 2020.
