Starlight Society - Global Music Discovery

So apparently I need to find a way to pay better attention to when bands I like release albums, because I seem to keep missing them. But I've still got lots of tunes to keep you folks drowning in the sound.

Also, we mourn the passing of two very talented musicians, one of whom also happened to be one of the biggest assholes in music as well. (Don't go around slagging other people, no matter how good you are, all I'm saying.)

The impeachment inquiry of Orange 45 are finally underway, and it feels like we're beginning to get some oxygen back into our lives. The fight's just begun, but it's started, and that more than we could say before.

A big block of this particular episode is dedicated to some of the musical titans we lost over the last few weeks, but there's also a bunch of cool new things, and some more obscure finds from deep in the past. While my oldest friend was shaken with the death of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain in 1994, it wasn't until 1997 when I was shaken similarly, by the death of INXS frontman Michael Hutchence. The music of INXS had been part of my life since the late 80s, and had personal significance to me in a lot of ways.

I miss when America had freedom. I miss when I didn't have to worry about Orange 45 trying to shred what little remains of the Constitution. I want all that back. But until then, I'll keep mixing music to listen to while the world (literally) burns. Let's all make it through this, shall we?
