Whether you’ve ever wanted to go into real estate investing, start/buy a software company, launch and scale a podcast, or generate passive income somehow, this book is your guide for doing that in 2019 and we break it all down on this episode.
Michael Martocci is the Founder and CEO of SwagUp. SwagUp focuses on creating high-quality swag packs for employee welcoming, client gifting, event attendees, and more. Although just under two years old, they’ve done over $3M worth of sales in 2018 and are on track to break $10M in 2019. SwagUp works with some of the biggest brands in the world including SalesForce, WeWork, and Samsung. So how did Michael, a college dropout who originally thought he would to go into finance, manage to create this business? Well, he’s had a passion for entrepreneurship since he was a little kid; with all the years of selling random things around his house, and his love for starting new businesses, Michael knew that he was destined to create something big. That drive and the need to be resourceful led Michael to drop out of school, collaborate with Ex-NFL player and workout guru, Steve Weatherford, connect with titans like Gary Vaynerchuck and Richard Branson, and build SwagUp from the ground-up. If you’ve ever thought about starting something, listen to this episode and do exactly what Michael did: just start and figure everything else out along the way.

Regina Ye is the founder and CEO of Zirui, a secure, sleek, and simple case to make your personal care routines portable and accessible wherever you go. Regina came up with this idea while on a trip -- she experienced what so many of us have at one point -- her liquids spilling all over the inside of her bags. Regina set out to fix this issue by creating a functional AND stylish product that people will actually want to use and show off. Although her background is in software engineering, she was resourceful and learned how to move into the physical products space. Some of the topics we talk about are how to go from the ideation stage to building a prototype, how to identify and partner with reliable manufacturers overseas, how to run a successful Kickstarter campaign, and what mistakes to avoid when building a consumer product-based business.

I had a really great time talking to Dylan about how to get started on a business, how to utilize social platforms to spread your message and much more.
David Segura is a veteran when it comes to the startup world although he hadn’t originally planned for that to be the case. David began his career in a corporate consulting role but quickly realized that it wasn't the right path for him. He founded and was the CEO of Giant Media, a leading advertising/media company at the time, eventually selling it to AdKnowledge after six years. David’s exit was a success and with the money and experience he gained, he jumped head-first into the Angel investing world, as many other former founders do. He’s invested in 40 companies so far like Everipedia, Mogul, and PerfectPrice and we learn about what type of traits/characteristics David looks for in a company and a founder when making those types of investments. Most recently, David joined Carbon, a price stable cryptocurrency as its Chief Operating Officer and we talk about the blockchain economy and what the future of Cryptocurrencies, stable coins, and other blockchain based companies looks like.
