  • Burglary, Death Threats, and Overwatching Porn

This episode may be the most depressing of the year.  Brian and Corey discuss Siftd being burgled, the death threats to Sean Murray of Hello Games and Jason Schrier of Kotaku surrounding the further delay of No Man's Sky, and lastly how Blizzard is fighting back against Overwatch porn.

  • This Episode is HUGE

That's right, folks, we have a longer than usual episode this week as Brian and Corey have on indie developer Jacob Williams.  Corey met Jacob at PAX South and tried out his latest game Fortune Fighters, which was recently greenlit on Steam.  We are all over the place on this episode talking virtual reality, independent development, time travel, how rad Michael J Fox was 30 years ago, video game movies and making terribly constructed sports metaphors.

Please note: The podcast, nor its members, are responsible if you make a drinking game out of how many times Corey says "huge" during the show.

  • To Infinity and Studio Closure

Brian and Corey discuss Disney's decision to discontinue the Disney Infinity franchise, shutter Avalanche Studio, and completely discontinue publishing.  We also talk about the uninspired release of Playmation Marvel Avengers and how it reminds us of Captain Power from the 1980s.  Then don't miss our short discussion on the less-than-admirable way Polygon began reporting the story.  Corey brings up Pokemon?  Of course, we couldn't possilby have an episode without talking Blizzard.  And Brian seriously needs himself some Persona 5.

  • My So Called JRPG Life

This week, Brian and Corey are joined by CosmicRadio.tv's very own Roberto Villegas.  This is the episode #TeamBrian has been waiting for - a guest to talk Japanese Role Playing Games with.  We talk about the Final Fantasy VII Remake, Bravely Second, I Am Setsuna, and Final Fantasy XV, amongst others.  Don't worry, Corey does get a word in edgewise as we talk the upcoming release of Overwatch.

  • UnControlled Legacy

In this very not safe for work episode of Starting Point, Brian and Corey are joined this week by Javis Ray, creator of Legacy Control.  Javis joins us to talk video games, plug his web comic, tell us about his Pateon, and take sides in the #TeamBrian / #Team Corey debate.  (Spoiler: He was bought off)  We are really all over the place in this fun-filled trainwreck that was an absolute blast to make.

In all seriousness, though, you can check out Javis' work:

Brian and Corey break the down the reports rolling in about the PlayStation 4 Neo aka the PS4K aka the PS4.5.  Will the incremental version increase increase sales for Sony or divide its consumer base.  We also touch on the rumors of Red Dead Redemption 2 and whether or not to get excited about it.

  • Fireside Chat

Brian and Corey want to slow down this week with a (hardly) quiet, intellectual conversion by the fireside - just like FDR used to do.  You remember, when the President stopped talking about the New Deal and spoke about the New Console.  Anyway, we talk a moment and talk about your feedback on the show before touching upon the Titanfall 2 teaser trailer and the issues some Xbox One users are having with The Division.

HERE is where you can find the faux fireplace if you wish to have the proper ambiance for the episode.

  • Everything is Bright

Brian and Corey are delighted to have Hailey Bright of Newegg TV as our guest this week.  We reminisce about the good ol' days, talk about mobile gaming and Hailey's excitement for the upcoming release of DOOM, and Brian convinces everyone to Miitomo.  We also discuss the fallout of the Overwatch controversy surrounding Tracer's butt and whether or not she is a flamingo.  Stay tuned as Hailey is asked about whether or not she is #TeamBrian or #TeamCorey.

  • Rooting to Fail

Brian and Corey take a moment from the slow news week to discuss why some people in the gaming community are so bent on rooting for Nintendo to fail.  Join us as we discuss our own opinions on the matter as well as stepping into the shoes of those that believe that failure is the best possible scenario.  We also have a bit of burning situation during the show and we take some feedback from friend of the show, Larry Asberry, Jr.

  • GDVR

Whether you interpretted the title as GD(C) Virtual Reality or something else, yes, Corey and Brian are talking about VR again.  This time, we're discussing PlayStation VR.  At GDC this week, Sony announced a release window and a price for its foray into the VR market.  We talk about our thoughts on that, as well as musing on Microsoft going platform agnostic on mulitplayer, Star Wars Battlefront in VR, Ubisoft discussing Werewolf Within, and the ridiculous amount of money Corey has spent in Hearthstone.
