  • In Like a Lion

Tonight, Brian and Corey discuss the cancelation of Fable Legends and the impeding closure of Lionhead Studios.  We talk about the factors in the cancelation and whether the type of unbalanced multiplayer in Fable Legends and Evolve can work in today's landscape.  We also chat about Overwatch, pre-ordering No Man's Sky, and Brian rants once again about the entitlement gamers express.

  • Sending Friends in to Die

Besides what might be the worst intro in history by Brian, we have a great show for you this week.  Matt Baros of Firaxs Games joins the podcast to tell us what it is like working at a game studio.  He also talks about being a soldier in Firaxis' newly released XCOM 2.  Besides XCOM 2, we also talk a lot about table top games, the recent Lumberyard announcement and Matt's rock band, Rare Candy.  Lastly, deep down, we really find out Matt is a part of #TeamBrian.

Check out the stylings of Rare Candy on iTunes or check them out at Bandcamp.

  • Origins of Subscriptions

Brian and Corey take a little bit longer than usual this week to discuss the newly announced EA Origin subscription service on the PC, as well as this new flourish of subscription-based models for "free games" when the model is clearly no longer working for MMOs.  We also discuss Leslie Benzies departure from Rockstar North and a wild variety of "just one more thing"s that lengthens the episode.
