The Competition Commission of India (CCI) had been probing the antitrust behaviour of ecommerce marketplaces in India.

Further, the company said that “the CCI order was perverse (and) passed without any application of mind”.

The CCI investigation order was issued a day before the arrival of Amazon’s founder and CEO Jeff Bezos in India, i.e January 13, 2020.

Recently, reports surfaced that CCI failed to find any evidence proving that Amazon and Flipkart had exclusive deals with smartphone manufacturers.

Nominet, a UK based cyber security provider, acquired CyGlass, a Boston-based cyber company.

The acquisition will enable Nominet to build on the progress they have made building a network detection and response capability to protect critical networks.

This is the first deal as a part of a strategy to broaden its offer in cyber security, through organic growth and acquisitions.

Now part of the Nominet group, CyGlass will continue to run as a separate business from its base in Boston.

Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS) is to acquire E*TRADE Financial Corporation (NASDAQ: ETFC), a financial services company, in an all-stock deal valued at approximately $13 billion.

This combination will enable Morgan Stanley to accelerate initiatives aimed at enhancing the workplace offering through online brokerage and digital banking capabilities, providing an enhanced client experience.

E*TRADE has over 5.2 million client accounts with over $360 billion of retail client assets, adding to Morgan Stanley’s existing 3 million client relationships and $2.7 trillion of client assets.

The company also provides a full suite of digital banking services, including direct integration with brokerage accounts, checking and high-yield savings accounts, accelerating Morgan Stanley’s digital banking efforts.

WeWork India has decided to keep its expansion plans on the back seat to focus more on profitability.

Karan Virwani, CEO of WeWork India, has announced that the company plans to be profitable by October 2020.
