Paytm Payments Bank (PPB) claimed that it has submitted a comprehensive list of 3,500 phone numbers, which have been actively involved in SMS and call scams, to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), and CERT-in.

The bank said that this initiative was taken to further ensure the security of digital payments users.

Speaking on the move, Satish Gupta, MD & CEO - Paytm Payments Bank said,"Fighting cyber fraud requires the concentrated effort of everyone in the ecosystem including financial institutions, telcos, police machinery as well as the government.

The past months have also seen several fraudsters sending SMSes to Paytm customers stating that either their (Paytm) account has been suspended, or pushed to complete KYC.

MUMBAI: Snacking startup Samosa Singh has raised $2.7 million (about Rs 19 crore) in series A funding led by She Capital along with follow-on investors Fireside Ventures and others.The company also saw participation from early-stage fund Equanimity Investments, Japan-based AET Fund , and the AL Trust , the Bengaluru-based company said in a statement on Friday.The fund will be used to scale up operations, increase production, and expansion into new cities, apart from entering individual households through its quick delivery via cloud kitchen model.Samosa Singh was co-founded by Shikhar Veer Singh and Nidhi Singh in 2016 to reinvent the king of snacks -- the samosa.

Qonto, a Paris, France-based challenger bank for SMEs and freelancers, raised €104m in Series C funding.

Backers included new investors Tencent and DST Global, and existing investors Valar, Alven, Taavet Hinrikus and Ingo Uytdehaage.

The company intends to use the funds to expand in France, Italy, Spain and Germany, expand operations and add functionalities to its platform.

The company currently has a team of more than 200 people in Paris.

In the wake of data breach issues related to social media platforms such as WhatsApp and Facebook, the Indian government has decided to launch its own messaging app.

The upcoming government-owned platform, which is expected to be named as Government Instant Messaging Service (GIMS), is reportedly in a trial phase.

Sources close to the development said that in addition to central ministries and departments, state governments can also use GIMS application to secure their communications.

Besides English and Hindi, GIMS platform is expected to support 11 other vernacular languages to gain popularity among state departments.
