The free internet services will be converted to paid public internet under the Digital India Common Service Centres (CSC) scheme.

India doubled its artificial intelligence (AI) workforce in 2019 following the advancement in technology and the adoption of business intelligence.

Yet, there are a large number of vacancies across sectors due to a talent gap, according to a study.

It also revealed that the average work experience of AI professionals in India is 7.2 years, while 29 percent of AI professionals have more than 10 years of work experience, it said.

Bengaluru emerged as the most popular destination for AI professionals, having created over 23,000 jobs as against 13,000 last year, the study said.

Regional language social media company ShareChat on Wednesday said over 100 million pieces of Hindi user-generated content (UGC) were created on its platform this year, accounting for over 22 percent of such content.

Other top languages in which UGC was created on the platform - which claims to have over 60 million monthly active users - includes content in Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, and Malayalam.
