Running a startup can be extremely difficult. Sticking to your vision and having a definite sense of purpose throughout is crucial. In many cases, the vision associated with your startup could be a long term one and the only way to accomplish that while maintaining sanity, would be to break it down into problems and solve them one by one. Expecting that for every problem solved, more will appear. Which highlights the absolute importance of enjoying the process. Our guest on the show is a perfect example of this. Gonzalo Espinoza Graham, Co-founder of Watfly: An aerospace startup manufacturing the first VTOL Ultralight. They have a long term vision of revolutionizing aviation with flying cars. Not literally, but applying the flying car concept means to make flight affordable for the masses.
This can be done by:
- Reducing development timelines and certification costs
- Reducing complexity
- Economies of scale
- Operational affordability
These bullet points are quite massive problems on their own. Solving these problems would require many small problems to be solved first eventually paving the the way for Watfly to achieve affordability for the masses. Gonzalo maintains a calm and composed mind throughout. Especially when I mention controversial topics where many would let their emotions take over. I must admit that I have made that mistake many times. I have definitely learned a lot from Gonzalo, during the show he also shares his experiences working at Tesla and what he learned from interacting and working with Elon Musk. Watfly applies some Tesla strategies that have been tried and tested. I look forward to following Gonzalo's journey and wish him and his team the best. Thank you for joining us.
