“Politics is just a game of 3D chess."
We are very thankful for all of our listeners as we have reached the top 75 political podcasts in the nation in six months, so thank you for your support!
Frank again sheds light on myths and misconceptions surrounding the Texas capital, especially with regard to how money is used to both promote “special interest” issues as well as what types of funds are used for election and re-election.
Far from what you may have heard on the news or the most popular political Reddit article, the inner workings of the political industry are best explained by someone who has been hands-on for the last 30 years including:
-How PAC money is raised and the guidelines around it politically in Texas…
-Why “Dark Money” is not exactly used as the term implies…
-How you should best go about persuading those who vote against you…
Will the “tribe mentality” that seems to be taking over the previous formal dialogue ever soften?
Texas politics may not be black and white, but the best way to vote responsibly on any current issues is to be informed by the people who have their ears to the ground and who don’t back down from the difficult questions and conversations that drive political improvement.

“Rage is the theme and the day-to-day expression is more weapons than you can imagine”
This is the stage that is being set at the Texas capital right now as they are nearing the end of the session. Anger seems to be seeping from the air vents, clouding the rhetoric and judgments of all who breathe it in.
Harvey is back and shedding the light on the cloak of darkness that seems to be pervading the Texas capital, emboldened by the mass security and automatic weaponry on display for all to see. Far from the energetic and collaborative attitudes that were more prevalent pre-covid, there is now a foreboding of rage stirring through the halls of our great capital.
What is it going to take to stop the violent rhetoric and expressions of violence on both extreme ends of the Republican and Democratic parties?
Will the “silent middle” of both parties who are just content with living in their daily bubbles finally reach a breaking point and make their majority voice heard?
These questions may not have an easy or firm answer to them, but Frank and Harvey are not backing down from the monster that seems to be forming inside our legislation. Listen in to get the inside scoop on the nuance and intricacies that weave together our humanity through the medium of Texan politics.

Throwing money at a problem does not magically solve an issue.
In this episode hosted by Frank Santos, returning guest Harvey Kronberg is back shedding light on the ongoing crisis at the southern Texas border, explaining why many of the arguments thrown toward the problem of illegal immigrants don’t hold much weight.
Listen to this episode to discover:
What is causing the surprisingly high suicide rate of Texas troopers stationed at the border
How stopping every truck at the border is doing more to hurt the economy than to stop fentanyl
Why the entrepreneurial spirit of Texas is in danger and possible solutions
Why most immigrant families have a split party vote after the 2nd or 3rd generation
While the issue at the border seems to be of little concern to Washington, Frank and Harvey are determined to keep our state safe and push for more manageable and common sense solutions to the process of becoming a legal citizen of the United States. With a country founded and built by immigrants and called “the melting pot” of diverse cultures and ethnicities, our duo ends by expressing their hope for a better future for all Texans.

“Up to 50% of alcohol home deliveries go to minors” according to data from federal stings operations.
Join host Frank Santos and guest Lance as they discuss the pressing issue of illegal alcohol consumption and delivery, especially involving minors.
Lance, a veteran lobbyist, shares his passion for keeping alcohol out of the hands of minors and the challenges that come with it, especially with the rise of delivery services like Instacart and Favor.
With more proposed laws on the horizon threatening the current stable structure of alcohol distribution, Lance sheds light on the importance of maintaining a safe delivery system and protecting small businesses. While monster brands are pushing to “cut out the middle man” and sell direct-to-consumer with little to no restrictions, your local mom-and-pop liquor shop is barely treading water.
From the three-tier system to the philanthropy of local store owners, Lance and Frank explore the complexities of the alcohol industry and the potential dangers of direct-to-consumer sales.
Don't miss this insightful episode on the hidden impact of alcohol consumption and delivery on our communities and learn how Texas representatives are fighting to keep you and your family safe.

Motivated by reading mothers’ testimony in support of Texas’ 2015 Compassionate Use Act (CUP), after a 15 year career in commercial litigation, Lisa Pittman radically changed her trajectory to focus on the medical cannabis world. First, she advised LSU on its role as cultivator/extractor/distributor under Louisiana’s 2015 medical cannabis law. Simultaneously, in Texas, she worked on DPS rule-making for the CUP, the 2017 license application process, and legislative advocacy at the Capitol. She went on to prepare license applications in other states, and moved to Colorado for 2 years to fully immerse herself in a legal state to bring first hand knowledge and experience back to Texas. She is one of the leading voices in this current Texas law-making session and is helping to pass a law that would allow a higher THC concentration, chronic pain, and other conditions. She is a Non-Resident Fellow at Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy, Drug Policy Program, and owns her own firm, Pittman Legal.
Concerns covered in this episode include:
-The process for licensing new Texas dispensaries
-Getting medical cannabis to patients that are far away
-Establishing remote storage locations and providing sufficient security
-Fentanyl in the illicit cannabis market
-The new demand that adding people with chronic pain will bring.
Frank and Lisa wrap up their conversation by discussing the future of the medical cannabis industry in Texas and how many people it will help, particularly for those suffering from both physical and mental pain. How many more could it help?

In today’s episode, Frank and Harvey take a deep dive into the mechanics of the Hispanic/Latino population. How do they vote? What do they value? How can Democrats and Republicans do a better job of making them feel heard?
Frank’s guest, Harvey Kronberg, is a first-generation immigrant and a serial entrepreneur, owning Austin Flag and Flagpole with his wife Michelle and publishing the Quorum Report.
There seems to be a shift happening in the majority of the Hispanic population in America, and Harvey and Frank discuss possible reasons as to why it is happening. The Democratic party is often incensed at the Republican’s comments about illegal immigration, thinking they’re stepping in for the Hispanic community.
However, polls show that most Hispanics in the U.S. are in favor of border control. On the other hand, Republicans think they are speaking to the heart of Hispanics regarding social issues when the data shows many Hispanics care much more about their family's safety and well being.
Since many are also entrepreneurial, they also seek the same freedom to provide for their families and communities in a way that brings them fulfillment. This failure to truly understand the hearts of the Hispanic community has caused many Hispanics to be in a “freefall” of loyalty as to which side to cast their vote on because they just don’t feel understood.
The party that can most genuinely lay down its own stigmas and biases to be open to the needs of this community, will likely see massive amounts of support and dedication from the Hispanic community in the upcoming elections.
