State lawmakers propose mirroring European antitrust protections

Aug. 7, 2020 - Recently, Congress grilled the leaders of the country’s biggest technology companies about their practices and the amount of the market that they control. On the state level, Deputy Senate Majority Leader Mike Gianaris has proposed legislation that would expand the state’s antitrust laws. We heard from Alec Stapp, Director of Technology Policy at the Progressive Policy Institute, on the proposals and the impact this will have on major companies like Facebook or Google.
