State makes pensions more accessible for public employees

July 28, 2022 - As the result of a quietly approved deal in the state budget, government employees hired since 2010 will be eligible to apply for a pension in the future with just five years of public service, instead of 10 years. CSEA President Mary Sullivan says the switch will help build a stronger state workforce and downplays the increased price tag for taxpayers.
