We talk about our gripes with the new Ghost in the Shell trailer as well as our fears that the movie will be a watered down verion of the anime we hold so dear to our hearts. Then with the presidential election having come and gone and all of us not agreeing with who got elected, We decided that we would involve something we love, comics  and give our opinion on what comic book characters would make for a better president then the one we will eventually have. Then to close out the show Pat and John talk about the experience they had during the most recent comic convention they attended, Rhode Island comic con. They review the whole event from panels to guests and talk the good and the bad and the pros and the cons of RI con.

The band is back together! That’s right Rifters, for the first Time in over a year all 3 original hosts are back together for this exciting episode. Not only is John joined by Sam and Dan but Pat also joins the fun. Which leads to a huge discussion about why Pat is done spending money on Marvel and DC properties as well now choosing to no longer read their comics. Then we review and discuss Marvel’s latest fI’ll  Dr. Strange, and decide where is ranks among all the other great Marvel movies from the past.

Dan makes his triumphant return to the Rift as co-host of the show. So with Dan being back of course we had to have a video game segment we discuss the teaser trailer for the Nintendo Switch and debate over if the Switch will be the Nintendo system we have all been waiting for. We also have a comic segment about DC comics finally taking over the comic Marketshare and what we think Marvel needs to do to take back control over the comic industry, As well as what we think of the teasers for Resurrxion Marvel’s upcoming line of New X-Men comics.

This week we are Joined by Jensen one of the admins of The Extraordinary Journey of a Black Nerd Facebook group. With Jensen aboard we talk all things nerdy hitting on topics such as the current state of Marvel and DC comics, the Luke Cage Netflix series, and explaining the Odin force to Jay. We even get into a great discussion about the exstent of Iceman’s powers and why he is one of the strongest characters in the Marvel Universe.

New York comic con has come and gone unfortunately we were not able to attend but the King of the con Mitch Hallock did and was out yes and ears on the ground. So Mitch joins us to talk all things NYCC from all the latest news, to all the people he rubbed elbows with and all the fun behind the scenes stories that happened from the great weekend. NYCC is not the only topic of this epic nerd session as Mitch and John nerd out about Luke cage, DC rebirth, Marvel now and all the comic shows that recently had their season premieres.
