From a wedding in Eden to the wedding of the Lamb, Scripture frames marriage as God’s normative gift for humanity. And yet U.S. marriage rates have collapsed from roughly 90% to under 50% in only a few generations while at the same time many churches have responded with warnings about “marriage idolatry." How should we think about singleness? When does delaying marriage become disobedience? And what does it actually look like for young men and women to prepare for godly marriage?
